Functional Jeet Kune Do Stand Up

First & Foremost "Get Real" Martial Arts is a Functional Jeet Kune Do (the way of the intercepting fist) training center! We will train you as Martial Arts Athletes dedicated to helping you Protect yourself and your Loved Ones during an Unprovoked Violent Street Encounter that may include Weapons, and Multiple Attackers!

This is a Hybrid, Turbo-Charged, Reality-Based Street Fighting Art created by the late Bruce Lee! Bruce had two ways of expressing his martial art, one way was Theatrical JKD or what you see in his movies, the second way he called Functional JKD or what he would personally use during a Real Street Altercation. You will be trained in all Four Ranges of combat: Kicking, Punching, Trapping/Clinch, and Grappling. Our methods include but are not limited to; Strategies, Principles, Concepts, Philosophies, Attribute Development, Tool Development, Weapons Training, Aliveness Training (training against a fully resisting opponent) and Reality-Based Scenario Training!

Functional JKD Stand-Up draws upon the following Martial Arts:

Functional Jeet Kune Do Groundfighting

We take the core art of Functional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and modify it for the street. The GOAL of this training is to teach each student how to effectively neutralize a sudden ground attack and gain the advantage.

Dominant Ground Positions, Clinch Positions, Tie-ups, Takedowns, Throws, Sweeps, Ballistic Ground Striking, Submission Locks, Chokes and Counters are taught as well as last resort biting, pinching an eye gouging. This class is a groundfighting equalizer to help you level the playing field. This is NOT a Sport! There are NO Rules!

Functional JKD Groundfighting draws on the following Martial Arts:

Kids Martial Arts "Little Cheetahs" (Ages 5-8)

Tom Created this Program with the Developmental Stages of this Age Group in mind. The goal is to let the children express themselves in their own unique way through play. After all children in reality are man cubs, and like all other species play is the way to learn. At times focus and concentration are important too so this class carefully weaves the two together. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (The Gentle Art) and a modified version of Bruce Lee's Kickboxing act as the Core of this 45 minute, DYNAMIC & ALWAYS FUN Class.

Your Child Will Not be able to wait to get back to their next class!!!

 
Kids Martial Arts "Young Cheetahs" (Ages 9-13)

This Program Created by Tom, is the Culmination of his Experiences in the Martial Arts. This class is Designed to Help Your Child Reach their Fullest Potential, while teaching them to make wise choices in life.

Your child will learn to say "NO" to unhealthy choices such as "Peer Pressure" from Bad Influences. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (The Gentle Art) and Bruce Lee's Kickboxing act as the Core of this 60 minute EXCITING, HIGH ENERGY Class. Judo & Wrestling elements are called upon also. Great lessons in life can be learned in the Studio on the MAT! This is Mixed Martial Arts for Kids at it's Best!

This class, Developed and Instructed by Tom, Combines the following Arts, Bruce Lee's Kickboxing Method, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and Boxe Francaise Savate (French Kickboxing).

The use of Punches and Kicks are taught, emphasizing Body Mechanics, Footwork & Movement. This is not the "fad" of "areobic kickboxing" this is Authentic, Real World Self Defense that just happens to be one of the Greatest Body Workouts on the Planet!

Of course Your Safety is our Greatest Concern so the Correct Protective Gear will be worn at all times.
